Lucknow. The family members have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the safe recovery of Lucknow-based engineer Akhilesh Singh Chauhan, who was kidnapped in Meghalaya. It is noteworthy that Akhilesh Singh Chauhan, a resident of Beniganj, Kursi Road, Lucknow, is working in a construction company in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya. Some miscreants had kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. After the matter came to his notice, CM Adityanath spoke to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday evening and requested to free Akhilesh. After this, Meghalaya Police came into action and recovered Akhilesh safely from the forest of South Garo Hills (Baghmara) district. Besides, two kidnappers have also been arrested.

Both the arrested kidnappers were demanding Rs 50 lakh from the bridge construction company in exchange for the release of Akhilesh, but the police showed promptness and got them released safely. Police have said that they are completely safe. He was kidnapped by a former militant organization.
