Imran Khan, Khandwa. Jamiruddin Qureshi, accused in the murder of journalist Ashutosh Srivastava of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, escaped from the custody of UP Police. He jumped from the moving train at Khandwa station after pushing the police personnel. To dodge the police personnel, he had made the excuse of going to the bathroom. Local Railways and UP Police are searching for the accused Qureshi. CTCB footage around the station has also been seen but the police have not got any success in that also.
Arrested with the help of Maharashtra Police
Jamiruddin Qureshi was arrested with the help of Maharashtra Police. He was arrested from Bhiwandi area of Mumbai. The police team from Jaunpur had gone to Mumbai to take Jamiruddin on transit remand. From here, Jamiruddin was being brought to Jaunpur on transit remand. They were taking him by train to Gorakhpur Vikali. Meanwhile, at Khandwa station between 02 am and 03 am, Jamiruddin told the police personnel that he had a slight suspicion.
He pushed the policeman and jumped from the moving train
After this they were taking him for a short interrogation. Jamiruddin pushed the policeman at the gate of a slow moving train and jumped on it. Seeing this the police personnel were shocked. He tried to pull the train but it did not happen. When the train stopped at Itarsi, he got down and took another train and came back to Khandwa station. During the search for the accused, CCTV footage was also searched but till now the police has not got any success.
Were taking Gorakhpur Vikali to Jaunpur by train
ASI Anni Lal of Khandwa GRP police station said that the journalist was murdered under Sahaganj police station district. There were 05 accused in this. Jammeeruddin Qureshi is also included, who had fled to Mumbai. Thane Crime Branch had caught Jammiruddin. Information about this was given to Sahaganj police station. The police station team had gone to Mumbai to pick him up. He was being taken to Jaunpur by Gorakhpur Vikali train. Jammiruddin has escaped by jumping from a moving train from outside Khandwa station.
