In a series of intense confrontations, Uttar Pradesh police have apprehended two notorious criminals involved in robbery and theft cases across Kanpur and Kasganj districts. Both encounters unfolded dramatically as the suspects opened fire on pursuing officers, prompting retaliatory action that left them injured and in custody.

The first breakthrough came in Kanpur, where authorities finally cornered Kallu alias Vishal, the prime suspect in a daring jewelry store heist on December 14. This audacious theft had shaken the local business community, with three of the four perpetrators already behind bars. Vishal, however, proved elusive, even escaping police custody on January 15 by shoving a guard and fleeing under the pretext of using the restroom.

Police intensified their search following tips that he was spotted near Banpurwa. During a routine check, officers spotted a suspicious figure approaching. When hailed to stop, Vishal unleashed a barrage of gunfire and attempted to flee. In self-defense, police returned fire, striking him in the leg. The wounded suspect collapsed, confessing his identity as Kallu alias Vishal, son of Ram Prasad.

Investigations reveal a criminal history marred by five prior cases of robbery and theft. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary confirmed that after medical treatment, Vishal will be remanded to jail. This arrest marks a significant victory in curbing organized crime in the region.

Meanwhile, in Kasganj, another high-stakes chase culminated in success. Following a robbery in Nagla Mani village under Dholna police station, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma mobilized four specialized teams. Late at night, during checks at Bhagyawant Bridge, officers noticed a motorcycle rider from Garhi Pachgai speeding toward them.

Ignoring flashlight signals to halt, the rider veered onto a dirt path. His bike skidded in haste, allowing police to close in. In a desperate bid, he fired at officers with intent to kill. Police responded decisively, wounding him in the leg. Identified as Yogendra, son of Atraj Singh from Kinawa village, the suspect admitted involvement in the Nagla Mani loot alongside accomplices.

From his possession, authorities recovered a motorcycle, an illegal country-made pistol, one live cartridge, two spent shells, and Rs 35,000 in cash. The injured man was rushed to Kasganj District Hospital. These back-to-back operations underscore the Uttar Pradesh Police’s unwavering commitment to public safety and swift justice.
