Lucknow’s political corridors are buzzing after the Uttar Pradesh budget presentation, with Samajwadi Party stalwart Ram Gopal Yadav launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath. In an exclusive interview, the Rajya Sabha MP questioned the very competence of the state’s economic leadership.

‘From such a team, what kind of solid budget can anyone expect?’ Yadav quipped, dripping sarcasm about the CM’s economic acumen. He painted a grim picture, asserting that ordinary citizens stand to gain nothing from these fiscal plans.

Taking it further, Yadav accused the government of callously displacing the poor from their homes. ‘They’ve already rendered the poor homeless. So, whose benefit is this budget really serving?’ he demanded, highlighting a disconnect between policy and public welfare.

Echoing these sentiments, SP MLA Sangram Singh voiced disappointment over unfulfilled promises. He had hoped for robust allocations for farmers, students, and youth, alongside world-class healthcare—a BJP pledge that remains elusive. Preliminary budget leaks offer little reassurance.

SP National General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav dismissed the entire exercise as visionless. ‘A paperless assembly will see yet another paper budget—pure deception,’ he thundered. He rallied support from disillusioned students, farmers, youth, and the aggrieved, vowing to oust the incumbents in upcoming polls and install a PDA government.

Congress MLA Aradhana Mishra Mona piled on, criticizing the administration’s reluctance to actually spend allocated funds. ‘They flaunt numbers, but lack the will to deliver,’ she said.

As debates rage, the UP budget has ignited a fresh round of opposition fire, questioning its relevance amid widespread grievances.
