In a shocking escalation of a family feud, a man in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, brutally murdered his nephew and niece over a long-standing land dispute. The incident unfolded in Dharmapuri village under Siddhi Ganj police station limits in Ashta tehsil, leaving the community in mourning.

Hari Singh Malviya, locked in a bitter property row with his younger brother Jagdish Malviya for years, chose a horrific moment to strike. On Friday morning, Jagdish was away from home. His two children, Sheetla (22) and Kuldeep (20), both preparing for their board exams, were getting ready to head to the exam center when Hari Singh attacked them with sticks and lathis.

The siblings suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos as neighbors tried to intervene, but the assailant fled the spot immediately.

Police sources confirmed the motive stems from the protracted land disagreement between the brothers. ‘The attack appears to be a direct result of this simmering feud,’ said a senior officer. Enraged villagers gathered at the site, protesting vehemently and even clashing with a police constable in the heat of the moment.

Authorities swiftly deployed additional forces to restore order. The bodies underwent post-mortem examination, and a murder case has been registered against Hari Singh Malviya, who remains at large.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sunita Rawat revealed that multiple teams have been formed to hunt down the fugitive. Raids are underway at suspected hideouts across the district. ‘We are leaving no stone unturned to apprehend him swiftly,’ she assured.

Station House Officer Girish Dubey added that extra personnel have been stationed in the village and hospital vicinity to prevent further unrest. ‘The situation is under control, and investigations are progressing,’ he stated.

This tragic episode underscores the deadly consequences of unresolved family disputes, urging communities to seek legal recourse over violence. As the manhunt intensifies, the Malviya family grapples with unimaginable loss ahead of what should have been a celebratory exam period for the young victims.
