A breakthrough in the Delhi car blast investigation has pointed towards a Turkish connection. Police sources have revealed that Dr. Umar Mohammad, identified as the driver of the explosive-laden Hyundai i20 through DNA analysis, was communicating with a handler based in Ankara, Turkey, operating under the codename ‘UKasa.’ This discovery has prompted a deeper probe into potential foreign links and radicalization networks. Authorities are investigating reports of Indian nationals traveling to Ankara in early 2022, where they may have been influenced by extremist ideologies. Furthermore, the use of the encrypted ‘Session App’ by Dr. Umar and other suspects for covert communications with their handler has been uncovered, highlighting sophisticated operational planning. The confirmation of Dr. Umar’s identity as the driver, based on DNA matches with his mother and recovered remains, solidifies the forensic findings. The blast, which occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station, caused significant casualties and damage. The incident has been officially declared a ‘terrorist act’ by the Union Cabinet, emphasizing the need for an urgent and professional investigation to ensure swift justice for the victims and their families.
