    Former US President Donald Trump extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi via a phone call, which Modi subsequently acknowledged on X (formerly Twitter). Modi described Trump as a friend and highlighted their mutual commitment to strengthening the India-US relationship. This interaction was the first between the two since June 17. Modi underscored his dedication to enhancing the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership and conveyed support for Trump’s efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict.

    Trump, also took to Truth Social to share his interaction, sending birthday wishes to PM Modi and praising his leadership. In his post, Trump thanked Modi for his support concerning the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, both nations have indicated their intention to advance a long-delayed trade agreement. Trump expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing talks to resolve trade issues, describing PM Modi as a “very good friend,” and looked forward to a successful outcome. Modi responded by highlighting the close friendship and partnership between India and the US, expressing confidence that trade negotiations would unlock the full potential of the India-US partnership.
