Chandradeep Pawar, a second-year electrical engineering student at IIT Kharagpur, has died after reportedly choking on medication. The medicine, taken as per a doctor’s prescription after dinner, became lodged in his airway. He was rushed to the B.C. Roy Hospital on campus, but was declared dead upon arrival.
In Delhi, a separate incident resulted in the death of a 39-year-old man. Delhi Police reported that he was stabbed to death by three minors in the Welcome area on Monday night. The victim was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead. Police have apprehended the three minors and recovered the murder weapon, a knife. The incident is believed to have been triggered by a minor altercation.
