A 23-year-old woman’s death by suicide in Thane district, Maharashtra, is under investigation after she reportedly took her life during a video call with her boyfriend on August 28. The incident took place in Titwala. The police have detained the boyfriend for questioning, and the woman’s family alleges a pattern of deception by the boyfriend towards other women. Authorities reported that the accused had taken the woman’s jewelry under false pretenses and threatened to release her private videos when she requested its return. The woman was unable to cope with the threats and ended her life. An autopsy was not performed, and no FIR has been filed. Simultaneously, the Delhi Police made significant arrests in an anti-narcotics operation. Afsana was arrested in the Bhalswa Dairy area with 300 grams of heroin. Further investigation led to the arrest of two suppliers, Narender and Jyoti aka Manshi, and the recovery of an additional 712 grams of heroin. The total seizure amounted to 1,012 grams (over a kilogram) of heroin. Cases have been registered under the NDPS Act against all those arrested.
