Hyderabad/Amaravati buzzed with festive spirit on Tuesday as Holi celebrations lit up Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Leaders from both states, including governors and chief ministers, poured out heartfelt greetings, emphasizing unity, joy, and the triumph of good over evil.

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma kicked off the festivities with a warm message. He described Holi as a vibrant festival of colors that strengthens brotherhood and solidarity among people. ‘This colorful celebration reinforces our faith in national unity,’ Varma stated, highlighting how the festival transcends social barriers and promotes peace and prosperity in society.

Drawing from mythology, the governor noted that Holi’s legends symbolize the power of truth and the victory of righteousness. His words resonated deeply, urging citizens to embrace the spirit of togetherness during the rangoli-filled revelry.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy echoed similar sentiments, wishing Telangana residents a joyous Holi. He portrayed the festival as a rainbow of love, affection, and happiness, while calling for peace and harmony. Reddy specifically appealed to the public to celebrate traditionally using natural colors, underscoring Holi’s role in fostering unity beyond caste and religion.

Across the border in Andhra Pradesh, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer extended his best wishes. He praised Holi for nurturing feelings of brotherhood and goodwill, bringing peace and prosperity to communities. Like Varma, Nazeer stressed how the festival’s joyful splash of colors bolsters national integration and breaks down social divides.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu rounded off the greetings with an optimistic note. Beginning with the symbolic Holika Dahan, which represents good triumphing over evil, Naidu hoped the festival would infuse new vibrancy into everyone’s lives. He encouraged sharing happiness with relatives, friends, and neighbors, wishing enduring peace and prosperity.

As rang-walas danced to the beats of dholaks and exchanged sweets amid bursts of gulal, these messages from top leaders set a tone of inclusive celebration. Holi in the Telugu states not only revives age-old traditions but also reinforces social bonds in a modern context, promising a brighter, more united future.
