Hyderabad witnessed a fiery speech from Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday, where he unleashed a barrage of accusations against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Speaking at a Congress party rally in Mulugu district ahead of municipal elections, Reddy branded BRS as the ‘Blackmail Political Committee.’

He alleged that during their decade-long rule, BRS leaders resorted to illegal phone tapping to intimidate citizens and extort hundreds of crores of rupees. ‘They amassed around 1,500 crores in party funds through unethical means, terrorizing people with intercepted calls,’ Reddy thundered.

Pointing fingers at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Reddy claimed the family built vast empires of TV channels, newspapers, and businesses worth thousands of crores, while denying double-bedroom homes to the poor. ‘If KCR had built just 200,000 houses annually, 2 million families would have roofs over their heads today,’ he remarked.

Reddy highlighted the plight of BJP MP Konda Visheshwar Reddy, whose phones were allegedly tapped to force property transfers. No one was spared—not opposition leaders, journalists, judges, or even film stars. Private conversations between spouses were eavesdropped upon, he charged.

The CM didn’t hold back on the central government either, questioning Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy’s silence on CBI probes into Kaleshwaram and Formula E-race scams. ‘Kishan Reddy has become Kishan Rao, acting like KCR’s adopted son,’ Reddy quipped sarcastically.

He accused the BJP of shielding BRS leaders while targeting Congress figures like Sonia and Rahul Gandhi with CBI and ED cases. In contrast, his Congress government is constructing 4.5 lakh Indiramma homes at a cost of 22,500 crores, with phase two approval slated for the next budget.

Municipal bodies received 17,442 crores, including 6,116 crores for erstwhile Warangal district municipalities, with Bhupalpalli alone getting 92 crores. Dismissing BRS rumors of district reorganizations, Reddy assured no districts would be abolished without public consultation and assembly debate.

Reddy urged voters to reject both BRS and BJP, calling them two sides of the same coin colluding against Congress. His speech galvanized supporters, setting the tone for a heated electoral battle.
