Tejashwi Slams NDA on Infiltrators After 21 Years in Bihar Power

Patna buzzed with political heat on Thursday as RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav fired sharp questions at the NDA government over illegal infiltrators. Taking direct aim at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statements, Yadav highlighted the irony of the ruling alliance’s long tenure in Bihar.

‘For 21 years, NDA has ruled Bihar, and they control the Centre too,’ Yadav told reporters. ‘If infiltrators are entering, it was their duty to stop it. They failed miserably.’ His words cut deep, pointing to a perceived lapse in border security despite years in power.

Yadav recalled how the Election Commission, during Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision, affirmed in Supreme Court affidavits that no infiltrators existed in the state. ‘Yet, every election season, BJP stirs this pot to divide people,’ he charged.

This comes amid Amit Shah’s three-day Bihar visit. On Thursday, Shah inaugurated border outposts in Araria district and addressed an SSB event. He vowed to demolish all encroachments within 10 km of the border and deport every identified infiltrator. ‘This is not an electoral promise; it’s the Centre’s firm resolve. Action starts soon,’ Shah declared.

Tejashwi didn’t stop there. He slammed the government over CAG reports exposing scandals in housing schemes, where homes allegedly got built in 24 hours—a clear red flag. ‘The biggest loot is from the state treasury,’ he said, noting opposition MLAs raised it in the assembly without response.

On Rajya Sabha polls, Yadav exuded confidence: ‘Whoever our candidate is, we’ll fight and win.’ As Bihar’s political landscape heats up ahead of elections, this exchange underscores deepening rifts over security, governance, and electoral tactics.
