Patna, February 13: In a scathing critique of Bihar’s deteriorating law and order situation, Janashakti Janata Dal national president Tej Pratap Yadav has urged the state government to prioritize public safety. Speaking to the media here, Yadav emphasized that maintaining law and order and taking stringent action against criminals is the primary responsibility of those in power.

The remarks come amid growing concerns raised by former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) over rising crime rates across Bihar. Yadav directly addressed the government’s duty, stating that it must ensure a secure environment for all citizens. ‘Law and order is the government’s job,’ he asserted, calling for immediate reforms.

When asked about the performance of Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Yadav took a measured tone. ‘Everyone is young and energetic. We all need to move forward,’ he said, avoiding direct confrontation but underscoring the need for collective effort.

The RJD has amplified these concerns on social media platform X, launching a fierce attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s administration. One post highlighted the tragic death of a 17-year-old girl found in suspicious circumstances near a coaching center close to AIIMS Golumber in Danapur, Patna. Her family alleges rape followed by murder, pushing her from the fourth floor. ‘In this incompetent government, criminals fear neither law nor police,’ the post read.

Another post questioned the alarming rate of child disappearances in Bihar. ‘Why are Bihar’s children vanishing? These kids, who bring joy to families, are reduced to mere statistics,’ it stated. The party accused the police of being preoccupied with corruption, bribery, and extortion at police stations, leaving real crimes unaddressed.

As public outrage builds, Yadav’s comments signal deepening political divides in Bihar. With elections on the horizon, the law and order debate is set to dominate discourse, pressuring the Nitish government to deliver tangible results. Citizens await swift action to restore faith in the system.
