A postgraduate medical student, Dr. Joshua Samraj, was found dead in a car parked near Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, which is suspected to be a suicide. Indications suggest that the 29-year-old administered IV fluids to himself. A suicide note was discovered at the scene; it contained an apology to his family, but did not specify the reasons behind his actions. Dr. Samraj, originally from Salem and employed in Madurai, was reportedly facing financial challenges. Family members also revealed he was experiencing emotional distress due to problems in a personal relationship. The police were notified after villagers noticed the vehicle had been in the same location for three days. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death. The police are also looking into potential financial issues. The case highlights the importance of mental health support, especially in the demanding medical profession.
