In a recent visit to Morena, Madhya Pradesh, revered spiritual leader Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand Giri Maharaj shared his profound insights on India’s transformative journey with IANS. Declaring India a Hindu nation that has emerged stronger and more prosperous, the Swami highlighted key milestones that showcase the country’s growing global stature.
Swami Giri pointed to the Supreme Court’s attention on UGC guidelines, expressing optimism that amendments are forthcoming under the current government’s commitment. ‘Unprecedented changes have swept the nation,’ he remarked, starting with the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir. Once a symbol of unrest, Lal Chowk now proudly hosts the tricolor, and Dal Lake witnesses thousands of women hoisting flags—a stark contrast to the past when flags were forcibly removed.
India’s economic prowess has soared, positioning it as the world’s fourth-largest economy, with projections to claim the third spot soon. The Swami praised the peaceful environment devoid of riots, violence, or cultural upheavals. Ending triple talaq has empowered Muslim women, while pandemic relief schemes demonstrated governmental foresight.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) stands as a beacon of innovation, outpacing digital payment systems in advanced economies like the US, Europe, France, and Singapore. ‘Even European nations applaud UPI’s efficiency,’ he noted. Clarifying he is not a government spokesperson, Swami Giri commended efforts toward a peaceful society and social harmony.
Emphasizing equality across castes, he asserted, ‘All castes are equal today, and all deserve respect. Regardless of caste, we are all Hindus, and we must take pride in that.’ Hindu values like yoga and Ayurveda are conquering global minds, practiced even in Muslim countries, with Ayurveda earning universal acclaim. ‘India houses Hindus, those whose ancestors were Hindus, and those who remember their Hindu roots,’ he concluded, urging national pride in this shared heritage.
