    P. Chidambaram, a senior leader within the Congress party, has expressed his support for the Supreme Court’s directives regarding stray dogs. He has stated that these directives should be implemented in every city and town. Chidambaram took to social media to express his view that it is not a complicated task to gather stray dogs and relocate them to suitable dog shelters. He proposed the use of government or municipal land situated on the outskirts of urban areas. This land would need to be prepared through leveling and fencing to provide a safe and contained environment for the dogs. He also mentioned the need to provide food and water for the dogs, emphasizing that there are economical ways to manage this. Chidambaram further stated that while additional strategies could be explored later, the immediate priority should be the relocation of stray dogs to secure shelters. He highlighted that roads should be safe and accessible for everyone, especially children and the elderly. The Supreme Court has ordered the capture of all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR within an 8-week timeframe, addressing concerns about the growing number of strays. The court has also instructed that these dogs be housed in safe locations and that any opposition to this order will face stringent action.
