Today, the Supreme Court will hold a detailed hearing on the petitions concerning the Special Intense Review (SIR). The bench consisting of Justices Surya Kant and Justice Joymallya Bagchi will conduct the proceedings. ADR and various opposition political parties have also filed petitions in the Supreme Court related to SIR. The bench will review an application from ADR that seeks a list of 65 lakh voters removed from the draft list; the Election Commission has rejected this in an affidavit, citing rules. Alongside this, a bike rally for Members of Parliament is planned for today under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative. The rally is scheduled to begin at 8 AM from Pragati Maidan and will progress via India Gate, Kartavya Path, culminating at Major Dhyanchand Stadium. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, has invited all Members of Parliament to join the bike rally. The Indian Meteorological Department forecasts that heavy rainfall may continue today in both Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. A red alert has been issued for Uttarakhand, and an orange alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh because of the expected rain.
