Ujjain, January 21: With just two days left for the highly anticipated release of ‘Border 2’, the cast and crew are leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film. Advance bookings have already crossed Rs 1.5 crore, signaling strong audience interest in this sequel to the iconic 1997 war drama.
Actor Suniel Shetty, who featured in the original ‘Border’, made a heartfelt visit to the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. His primary prayer was for the success of ‘Border 2’, especially for his son Ahan Shetty’s big break in the film. Dressed in traditional attire with a red sandalwood tilak on his forehead, Shetty spent considerable time in devotion before Lord Mahakal, seeking divine blessings.
Speaking to the media outside the temple, Shetty shared his emotions. ‘I always pray for my family’s health above everything else. But this time, it’s special because Ahan’s ‘Border 2′ is releasing soon. Produced by Nidhi Dutta, who’s like a daughter to me, I came here so the film receives immense love from audiences. A single film’s success supports countless families.’
‘Border 2’, set for release on January 23, boasts a massive budget of Rs 150-200 crore. Five songs have already dropped, with ‘Mitti Ke Bete’ sung by Sonu Nigam going viral on social media for its poignant tribute to soldiers’ sacrifices and their families’ pain. The legendary track ‘Sandesh Aate Hain’ returns, reimagined by four singers.
The original ‘Border’ shattered box office records and stirred patriotism across India. Fans are eager to see if the sequel can match that legacy. From makers to stars, expectations are sky-high, and Shetty’s temple visit underscores the personal stakes involved.
