The Election Commission of India is set to hold a press conference at 3 PM on August 17, 2025, at the National Media Centre in New Delhi, as announced by DG Media ECI. This conference follows the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, a process that has sparked discussion. The SIR, which began four months before the state assembly elections, is designed to ensure that all eligible citizens are registered and that ineligible individuals are removed from the rolls. The first phase of vote counting began on July 1. The final voter list publication is slated for September 30, after addressing all claims and objections. This is done when the ECI feels that the current voter lists are either seriously flawed or need to be completely reconstructed.
