Following Sonam Raghuvanshi’s surrender in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, her brother Govind recounted his reaction to receiving a call from her after a prolonged period. Sonam was discovered near a dhaba along the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road. She was initially taken to Sadar Hospital and later moved to the Sakhi One stop centre. Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong, mentioned in a previous address that Sonam surrendered herself, while others were caught in a late-night operation.

Govind refrained from offering further comments regarding his sister’s case. However, he shared details of their conversation. He disclosed that he informed the police following the call, and they ensured her safe custody. He stated, “When she called me, I got emotional, and later informed the police. Until I meet her (Sonam), I cannot say anything. For the last 72 hours, I have been awake. It’s been 20 days since I met her.”
