New Delhi, February 26 – In a heartfelt appeal to his supporters, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged everyone to make his upcoming birthday on March 5 truly meaningful by planting a tree and sharing a photograph of it with him. Posting a video on X, Chouhan emphasized that true fulfillment in life comes from living for noble causes, with environmental conservation being a sacred mission in his own journey.

‘Life becomes successful and purposeful when dedicated to good objectives,’ he said, revealing his personal commitment of planting a sapling every day for the past five years. Discouraging traditional birthday gestures like garlands, shawls, or hoardings, Chouhan called for a shift towards purposeful actions. ‘No flowers, no shawls, no souvenirs – just plant a tree on March 5 and send me its photo. That will make my birthday meaningful,’ he appealed.

Highlighting the unparalleled service of tree planting, Chouhan described trees as life’s essence for humans, homes and food for birds and insects, shade and nourishment for animals, and the very adornment of the earth. He encouraged not just one-time participation but making it a habit on personal birthdays too.

In a separate note, addressing Youth Congress protests at the AI Summit over farm agreements, the Agriculture Minister firmly defended the Modi government’s policies. ‘These agreements are in the interest of Indian farmers,’ he asserted, accusing detractors of spreading misinformation through daily falsehoods. He condemned the protesters’ act of disrobing as an insult to Mother India.
