MUMBAI – Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) electoral strategy in Tamil Nadu, asserting that the party stands no chance of success without strong local alliances. Speaking exclusively to media outlets, Dubey highlighted BJP’s ongoing struggles in southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana.

‘Despite their aggressive push, BJP’s efforts in these regions are falling flat,’ Dubey remarked. He drew parallels to Maharashtra, where Balasaheb Thackeray once bolstered BJP’s presence. ‘But how did BJP repay that loyalty? They splintered his party,’ he added bitterly.

On the occasion of Balasaheb Thackeray’s birth centenary, Dubey portrayed him as a national icon whose advocacy for Hindus resonated globally. Celebrations unfolded across Mumbai and Maharashtra, yet Dubey lamented the division of Thackeray’s legacy into factions. ‘Those nurtured by him have torn it apart. We’ll reclaim our symbol and party from the Supreme Court, sooner or later,’ he vowed.

Turning to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s recent frustrations, Dubey praised his expertise and contributions. ‘Congress must value leaders like Tharoor. Ignoring them signals deeper troubles,’ he observed. Regarding the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) mayor race post-elections, Dubey questioned the benefits for Marathi people amid BJP’s push for its candidate. ‘Eknath Shinde should reflect on his gains and losses,’ he advised.
