A soldier was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in the Udhampur region of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident happened during a search operation in the high-altitude areas. Terrorists initiated gunfire against the army, resulting in one soldier being wounded. The soldier was immediately taken to the hospital but, unfortunately, did not survive his injuries.

The search operation began late Friday in the Dudu-Basantgarh area of Udhampur and the Seoj Dhar forest border of Bhadrawah in Doda. The army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police were involved in this joint operation. During the search, terrorists fired, and a soldier was injured. The soldier later died from his injuries at the hospital.
