Sajjad Ahmad Sheikh, alias Sajjad Gul, the founder of The Resistance Front (TRF), is at the center of the Pahalgam terror attack. The attack, which happened on April 22, was orchestrated by him and resulted in the death of 25 tourists and one local ponywala. Gul, who is based in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, has been a key figure in numerous terror operations from 2020-2024. His involvement includes orchestrating targeted killings in Central and South Kashmir, grenade attacks in 2023, and ambushing police personnel. Before turning to terrorism, Gul was educated in Srinagar, Bangalore, and Kerala, where he took a lab technician course. Subsequently, he returned to Kashmir and established a diagnostic lab, which he used to assist the terror group logistically. J&K police have seized properties, including a house worth Rs 2 crore, owned by his father in connection with his activities.
