Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: In a significant address ahead of the 2027 state assembly elections, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat urged activists in Meerut to stay connected with the organization and bring others into the fold. Delivering five key mantras, Bhagwat emphasized selfless service as the cornerstone of true dedication.
The fifth mantra stood out as particularly profound. ‘Perform good deeds with authenticity and without expectation,’ he advised. ‘Do not seek tickets or seats in return. Do good and cast it into the river.’ He stressed that such excellence in service for the nation would earn one a place in the RSS family, even without formal knowledge of the organization.
This message comes just days after Bhagwat’s speech in Lucknow on February 18, where he underscored social harmony, the eradication of caste divisions, and cultural unity as the bedrock of nation-building. ‘We are all sons of Mother India, brothers by blood, and Hindus united,’ he declared, arguing that this sentiment alone could dismantle untouchability and caste barriers.
Bhagwat clarified that the RSS opposes blind imitation of modernity, not modernization itself. A vigilant and harmonious society, he said, would naturally weed out political distortions. Addressing caste, he noted it was originally work-based but has devolved into chaos today. ‘Every individual can now perform any task. Caste walls are crumbling, especially among the youth. We must draw a bold line: we are all Hindus.’
On the UGC regulations controversy, Bhagwat advised restraint, noting the matter is sub-judice in the Supreme Court. ‘Avoid speculative reactions. Prevent societal divisions,’ he cautioned. Modernization is ongoing, but blind Westernization must be shunned. Embrace the new only after scrutiny, aligned with eternal values.
Looking ahead, Bhagwat is set for a two-day visit to Uttarakhand on February 22-23. As part of the RSS centenary celebrations, the state will host 1,000 Hindu conferences to foster unity and outreach.
