RANCHI: In a significant outreach to India’s tribal communities, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Jharkhand’s capital on Friday for a two-day visit. The highlight was Saturday’s ‘Tribal Dialogue’ event at the Carnival Banquet Hall, drawing hundreds of tribal representatives from across the state.

Around 400 to 1,000 tribal leaders gathered in this closed-door meeting to discuss pressing issues like cultural preservation, development challenges, social unity, and community concerns. Dr. Bhagwat, known for his emphasis on national integration, listened intently as participants shared their views, fostering a direct line of communication rarely seen in such forums.

Senior RSS figures, including regional propagator Ramanavmi Prasad and provincial propagator Gopal, joined the session, which stretched from morning into the afternoon, possibly until 3:30 PM. This initiative underscores RSS’s long-standing commitment to tribal welfare through education, healthcare, and cultural programs in remote areas.

Jharkhand, home to a substantial tribal population, presents a vital arena for such engagements. The dialogue aims to bridge gaps, build trust, and promote harmony. Post-event, Bhagwat is scheduled to depart by train to Patna for further organizational activities, aligning with RSS’s broader strategy of connecting with diverse societal sections to strengthen national unity.

Observers note that these interactions could enhance awareness and confidence in RSS efforts among tribals, potentially reshaping community perceptions and collaborations in the region.
