New Delhi buzzed with political fireworks on Thursday as BJP senior leader RP Singh unleashed a sharp critique against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Singh accused Banerjee of seeing politics in every tragedy, particularly her comments on the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Banerjee had expressed profound shock over Pawar’s death in the early morning crash, lamenting the lack of safety for even top politicians in India. She hinted at prior knowledge of Pawar’s potential return to his old political camp, suggesting an untimely ‘accident’ just before that shift. ‘Common people aside, leaders aren’t safe here,’ she stated, referencing a recent statement from another party’s figure.

RP Singh fired back, branding Banerjee’s remarks as blatant politicization. ‘Mamata Banerjee sees conspiracy and politics everywhere. She should rename herself Mamata Conspiracy,’ he quipped. He urged restraint, noting that Sharad Pawar himself had termed it a pure accident. ‘Tragedies like this demand respect, not political games,’ Singh emphasized.

The BJP leader didn’t stop there. Dismissing comments from MP Pappu Yadav questioning if it was ‘coincidence or conspiracy,’ Singh called them desperate bids for attention from those with no political standing left. Turning to Bengal, he slammed Banerjee for allegedly using SIR protests to appease Muslim voters, pushing communal agendas through organized groups.

On restrictions for non-Hindus at Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines, Singh defended it as a matter of faith. ‘Temple committees should decide entry based on religious sanctity,’ he asserted. Finally, he poked at Congress internal rifts, praising Shashi Tharoor’s nationalistic views while suggesting Rahul Gandhi’s discomfort with independent voices.
