Patna, February 24: Political tensions have escalated following the Delhi Police’s arrest of Indian Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib over a protest at the AI Summit. RJD MLA Bhai Virendra has come out strongly in support, declaring that the Youth Congress did nothing wrong.
Speaking exclusively to reporters in Patna, Virendra emphasized that protests are a natural response to situations, and every party operates according to its policies. ‘There is no mastermind behind this. What happened at the summit was justified, and I fully support it. Congress acted appropriately,’ he stated.
Congress MLA Abhishek Ranjan echoed these sentiments, accusing authorities of targeting Youth Congress members for a routine demonstration. ‘They’re preparing sedition charges against our people just for protesting. Arresting our national president is unacceptable in politics,’ he remarked.
Meanwhile, RJD MLA Ranvijay Sahu turned the spotlight on Bihar’s deteriorating law and order. He lambasted the state government, saying residents are living in fear under what he called a ‘criminal regime.’ Recent brutal murders of two brothers in Patna district highlight police inaction, he noted, alongside a surge in crimes against women, with over 40 rape cases reported last month alone. ‘Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remains silent as chaos reigns,’ Sahu fumed.
Virendra also addressed protests by watchmen and constables demanding better conditions. He condemned the police lathi charge that injured several demonstrators, urging strict action against those who ordered it and immediate fulfillment of the protesters’ genuine demands.
As opposition voices grow louder, the arrest has ignited a fierce political debate, with accusations of vendetta flying thick and fast. Bihar’s governance woes continue to fuel public discontent, setting the stage for more confrontations ahead.
