In a major boost to Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has issued strict directives to accelerate the development of industrial parks in Rewa and Maihar districts. Speaking at a high-level review meeting in Bhopal, Shukla emphasized the need for swift land acquisition, robust infrastructure setup, and proactive investor outreach to transform these regions into thriving manufacturing hubs.

The initiative comes at a time when the state government is aggressively pushing its ‘Ease of Doing Business’ agenda. Rewa, known for its rich mineral resources, and Maihar, famous for its cement industry, are being positioned as key nodes in the industrial corridor. Officials revealed that over 1,000 hectares of land have been earmarked in Rewa alone, with preliminary surveys completed for Maihar’s proposed park spanning 500 hectares.

Shukla directed the Industries Department to finalize power, water, and road connectivity plans within the next 45 days. ‘We cannot afford delays. These parks must attract anchor investors in sectors like textiles, agro-processing, and renewable energy,’ he asserted. The meeting also addressed challenges such as land disputes and environmental clearances, with instructions to form dedicated task forces.

Local stakeholders welcomed the move. ‘This will generate thousands of jobs and uplift ancillary industries,’ said a Rewa-based entrepreneur. The government aims to operationalize Phase 1 of both parks by mid-2025, aligning with the state’s ambitious target of doubling industrial output.

As Madhya Pradesh eyes sustainable growth, the Rewa-Maihar corridor could emerge as a game-changer, drawing investments from across India and abroad. With the Deputy CM’s firm push, the groundwork for an industrial renaissance in the Vindhya region is firmly underway.
