With Independence Day approaching, the nation has seen a significant increase in security protocols. Delhi has implemented comprehensive security measures, including heightened patrols and surveillance, particularly at border entry points. The city’s security apparatus comprises the Delhi Police, paramilitary forces, NSG, SPG, Military Intelligence, and other entities, with over 20,000 personnel deployed. The Delhi Police have incorporated cutting-edge AI technologies, including facial recognition, anti-intrusion cameras, people-counting cameras, ANPR, and abandoned object detection. The ANPR system is designed to identify suspect vehicles. Facial recognition technology uses a database of 300,000 suspects. Abandoned object detection will trigger immediate alerts. Anti-intrusion cameras will monitor the Red Fort’s perimeter. Anti-drone systems are active, with snipers stationed strategically. Over 800 CCTV cameras and two dedicated control rooms will manage surveillance. The Red Fort has been under restricted access for 20 days, with ongoing anti-sabotage checks. Parking facilities will employ under-vehicle scanning. Commercial vehicle entry into Delhi has been restricted since August 14, with traffic diversions in place. Cyber patrols have been conducted, leading to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of weapons. Comparable security enhancements are underway in Chandigarh, where over 2,000 police officers are present, and in areas such as Sambhal, Bandipora, Mumbai, and Agartala, demonstrating the comprehensive nature of the security preparations.
