RANCHI: In a shocking revelation, Ranchi police have cracked the murder of Asif Ansari, a young man found dead near a school in Anand Vihar on February 19. The killing stemmed from a long-standing love affair that turned deadly due to jealousy and revenge.
The body, discovered at 6:45 AM by KP School, bore severe head injuries. Identified as a resident of Raja Colony in Kantatoli, Asif’s death triggered a swift investigation by the Khadgao police station team.
Senior Superintendent of Police’s directives led City SP’s squad to uncover a web of conspiracy. At the center were Biula Toppo and her husband Johnson Minj. Johnson’s fury over his wife’s 15-16 year affair with Asif fueled the plot.
Johnson teamed up with friend Deepak Agarwal to orchestrate the hit. They hired contract killers Prince Kumar and Prem Lakda, paying them hefty sums: 1.6 lakh to Prince and 2.4 lakh to Prem, while Deepak pocketed around 4 lakh for his role.
Acting on leads from technical surveillance and human intelligence, police arrested the couple, Deepak, Prince, and Prem. From their directions, officers recovered a country-made pistol, Bajaj Discover motorcycle, scooter, blood-stained jacket, soil with blood traces, and mobile phones used in the crime.
All five accused have been remanded to judicial custody. DSP Sadar, addressing a press conference on Sunday, detailed how months of simmering rage exploded into this brutal murder. The case highlights the perils of unchecked personal vendettas in urban fringes.
Authorities warn that such contract killings will face zero tolerance. The investigation continues to probe financial trails and potential accomplices, ensuring full justice for Asif’s family.
