Mumbai’s political landscape heated up as BJP legislator Ram Kadam unleashed a barrage of sharp commentary on everything from local power plays to national triumphs. Zeroing in on whispers of an NCP merger, Kadam questioned the suspicious timing. ‘Why did these merger talks only erupt after Ajit dada’s passing?’ he demanded. During Ajit Pawar’s lifetime, neither Sharad Pawar’s faction nor Ajit Pawar’s group hinted at reconciliation. Now, suddenly, the idea surfaces, raising eyebrows about a potential wave of ‘ugly politics.’
Kadam stressed ethical governance norms. If Ajit Pawar’s camp, part of the ruling coalition, eyes a major move, they should first consult Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The CM has already dismissed any such discussions, labeling these post-death rumors as fabricated tales designed to stir confusion.
Shifting gears to cricket diplomacy, Kadam boasted of India’s unyielding stance against Pakistan. ‘Our players have schooled them on the field before, and we’ve dominated everywhere—land, air, sky,’ he declared. Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, India now strikes deep into enemy territory if needed. While decisions on matches rest with the government, sports ministry, and BCCI, Kadam insisted Pakistan still trembles at India’s transformed might.
Turning fire on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Kadam accused her of outrage over voter list cleanups via Special Intensive Revision (SIR). ‘She’s burning up because fake entries—up to 90 lakh in some states—are being purged,’ he said. Banerjee should champion transparency, but fears eroding her infiltration-backed vote bank. This resistance, he charged, prioritizes power retention over public good.
Praising the latest Union Budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Kadam highlighted global acclaim from industry and foreign governments. He mocked opposition’s predictable backlash: Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge recycle the same script yearly since 2014. ‘Time for Congress to hire a new scriptwriter,’ he quipped. The opposition lacks the courage to acknowledge India’s progress.
On Sunetra Pawar’s council of ministers inclusion controversy, Kadam defended the process. Ajit Pawar faction MLAs endorsed her, leading to the CM’s recommendation to the Governor. Blaming the CM or MLAs now reeks of childish politics, he scoffed.
