Patna, March 3: In a surprising show of camaraderie across Bihar’s political lines, LJP (Ram Vilas) MLA Raju Tiwari has extended a warm welcome to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, amid swirling rumors of his potential entry into active politics via the Rajya Sabha.
Tiwari, speaking candidly, acknowledged that the decision rests with Nishant’s party, JD(U), but emphasized his delight if it materializes. ‘Nishant is young and full of promise,’ he said. ‘His father has an illustrious record of service to Bihar. His foray into politics would be a positive step.’
Highlighting Nishant’s youth, fresh perspective, and religious inclinations, Tiwari predicted he would emerge as a strong leader beneficial to the state. ‘Our party and I will wholeheartedly welcome him,’ he added.
Tiwari didn’t shy away from critiquing opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, questioning his track record. ‘Bihar has seen what Tejashwi can do. His role as Leader of Opposition in the assembly speaks for itself,’ he remarked sarcastically.
On the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, Tiwari exuded confidence, asserting that all five seats in Bihar would go to the NDA. ‘There’s no tussle over Nishant; he’s the CM’s son with a spotless image and bright future. I wish him well in serving Bihar,’ he said.
Rumors of Nishant’s political debut have gained traction, fueled by persistent demands from JD(U) workers who have put up posters urging his entry. Despite this, neither Nitish nor Nishant has commented officially.
As NDA leaders deliberate, Tiwari affirmed full party support for their decisions, predicting a clean sweep in the polls. Nishant’s potential rise signals a generational shift in Bihar’s dynamic political landscape.
