Azamgarh: Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar unleashed a sharp commentary on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s potential Rajya Sabha bid, calling it the fulfillment of his long-held dream to ascend to the upper house. Speaking to reporters, Rajbhar painted a vivid picture of political ambition’s endless ladder.
‘When someone becomes a Pradhan for five years, they start eyeing the district panchayat. From there, it’s MLA, then minister, chief minister, prime minister, and finally president,’ Rajbhar quipped, underscoring Nitish’s apparent craving for higher political echelons.
Rajbhar highlighted Nitish’s own social media post where the Bihar CM expressed his personal desire to enter Rajya Sabha, noting he’s never been to Delhi for it before. ‘He’s the master of his own destiny. BJP alliance has extended an open invitation,’ he added, referencing how the NDA has already elevated Nitish to CM in Bihar.
On speculations of BJP making Nitish CM again, Rajbhar deferred to the legislature party, affirming loyalty to NDA. He didn’t hold back on opposition barbs either, slamming Congress and Samajwadi Party for their inconsistent rhetoric against the government just to garner votes.
Rajbhar praised BJP’s welfare measures, pointing out increased pensions for disabled and elderly from meager amounts under SP to a uniform Rs 1,000. He accused previous regimes of siphoning farmer aid, a practice now curbed under BJP, fueling opposition’s protests.
This exchange comes amid ongoing political maneuvers in Bihar ahead of key elections, with alliances shifting and ambitions running high.
