In a sweeping administrative overhaul, the Rajasthan government has transferred 21 senior IPS officers, reshaping leadership across key police positions statewide. The late Monday night order, primarily triggered by recent promotions, marks significant changes in major cities like Jaipur and Jodhpur.
Jodhpur’s Police Commissioner has been replaced by IG SOG Sharat Kawiraj, a move aimed at bolstering operational efficiency in the western hub. Outgoing Commissioner Om Prakash shifts to Special Commissioner in Jaipur, while Jaipur’s Special Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash takes on IG duties for the Jaipur Range.
The reshuffle extends to range-level leadership in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Kota. Satyendra Singh moves from IG CID-CB to Jodhpur Range IG. Om Prakash’s reassignment follows to Bikaner Range IG from Armed Police Battalion. Bikaner Range’s Hemant Kumar Sharma heads to IG SCRB in Jaipur, and Ajay Pal Lamba transitions from SCRB to IG SOG Jaipur.
Promotions highlight the order’s impact. ADG Crime Branch Hawa Singh Ghoomaria elevates to ADG Headquarters. Vipin Kumar Pandey rises from ADG Police Recruitment Board to ADG Rajasthan Crime Branch. Prabhull Kumar advances from IG Intelligence to ADG Intelligence, and Jaipur Range IG Raghavendra Suwasa becomes ADG Training.
Other notable shifts include Jodhpur Range IG Rajesh Meena to IG Home Guard Jaipur, S. Parimal from IG Personal at PHQ to IG ACB, and Vikas Kumar refocused solely on IG Anti-Narcotics Task Force after relinquishing ATS command. Rajesh Singh takes IG ATS Jaipur from ACB, Satyendra Kumar moves to CEO of Rajasthan Transport & Innovation Institute from SCRB IG—a role equivalent to IAS level.
Preeti Chandra advances from DIG 1st Armed Battalion Jaipur to IG Law & Order Administration Jaipur. Harendra Kumar Mahawar shifts from DIG SSB Jodhpur to IG CID-CB Jaipur, and Rahul Kotki moves from DIG JDA to IG Personnel at Police Headquarters.
This comprehensive realignment signals Rajasthan’s push for renewed vigor in policing, intelligence, and specialized units amid evolving security challenges.
