A 55-year-old woman from Udaipur’s Jhadol block, Rajasthan, has given birth to her 17th child, an event that has drawn attention. Rekha Kalbelia delivered her baby at the local Community Health Centre. The family has faced the tragic loss of some of their children soon after birth. Rekha and her husband, Kavara Ram Kalbelia, now have 12 living children. The couple are also grandparents, as some of their children are married with children. Their financial situation is difficult, with the father earning a living as a scrap dealer. The family has struggled financially, borrowing money for their children’s weddings, and none of the children have had the opportunity to attend school.
