As part of the Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi, along with Tejashwi Yadav and Pappu Yadav, visited the Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi. This visit marked the 12th day of the yatra, organized by the Mahagathbandhan.
Rahul Gandhi had expressed his intention to visit the temple, but permissions were initially withheld due to security concerns. However, the visit was later authorized after the route was determined. Despite initial hurdles, the visit by Rahul and Tejashwi to the Janaki Temple was arranged. Priyanka Gandhi had also planned to visit but returned to Delhi due to route issues. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav offered prayers at the temple early in the morning.
Krishna Allaveru, Bihar Congress in-charge, stated that they believe in and respect all religions and their deities. Rajesh Ram, the Bihar Congress President, prayed for the well-being of the people and the progress of India and Bihar.
The Voter Rights Yatra began on August 17 in Sasaram, with participation from Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Dipankar Bhattacharya (CPI-ML), Mukesh Sahni (VIP), and other leaders from the Mahagathbandhan. The yatra arrived in Sitamarhi from Muzaffarpur on Wednesday.
