In a demonstration of unwavering commitment to party discipline, Rahul Gandhi voluntarily performed 10 push-ups at a Congress training session in Madhya Pradesh. The reason? He was merely 10 minutes late to the venue. This ‘punishment’ is a standard protocol implemented by AICC Training Department chief Sachin Rao for any participant arriving past the designated time, a rule Gandhi readily followed. The training camp is a crucial component of the Sangathan Srajan Abhiyan (SSA), a drive dedicated to fortifying the Congress party’s organizational capabilities across the country, scheduled to end on November 11. Madhya Pradesh Congress officials highlighted the importance of equality and democratic principles within the party, noting that such exercises foster a sense of collective responsibility and are fundamental to their strategy for regaining power in the state, targeting Mission 2028. This visit is part of Gandhi’s broader effort to energize the party’s base in MP, his second visit in half a year. He subsequently departed for campaigning in Bihar.
