A devastating stampede at the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri resulted in the loss of life and injuries to several attendees. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at Saradhabali, near the Gundicha Temple. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan reported three fatalities due to suffocation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the stampede, and additional police have been deployed to manage the crowd. The Rath Yatra continues with devotees participating in the event. Earlier in the festival, health officials had attended to around 750 devotees experiencing health problems related to the large gathering.
