New Delhi marks a somber milestone today, seven years after the devastating Pulwama terror attack that claimed 40 brave Indian soldiers. The nation unites in remembrance, paying heartfelt tributes to the fallen heroes whose sacrifice continues to inspire unwavering resolve against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the commemorations with a poignant message on X, recalling the ‘brave heroes’ who laid down their lives on February 14, 2019. ‘Their dedication, determination, and service to the nation will forever remain etched in our collective consciousness,’ he wrote. ‘Every Indian draws strength from their indomitable courage.’

The attack, carried out by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed militants using a suicide bomber targeting a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir, shocked the world and triggered India’s Balakot airstrikes. PM Modi’s words resonate deeply as the country reflects on the path to eradicating cross-border terror.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan echoed this sentiment, stating the martyrs’ supreme sacrifice inspires unity against terrorism. ‘India stands firm with a zero-tolerance policy, committed to rooting out terror,’ he affirmed.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale described the attack as ‘cowardly’ and hailed the soldiers’ unparalleled service. ‘Their sacrifice proclaims India’s unyielding resolve to eliminate terrorism,’ he posted on X.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid respects, emphasizing the martyrs’ role in fueling the nation’s fight against terror.

Even as political lines often divide, opposition leaders joined the chorus. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge offered ‘humble tributes’ to the ‘brave martyrs,’ vowing their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar remembered the soldiers’ timeless valor, sacrifice, and patriotism that safeguard India’s sovereignty. ‘We will always cherish their unyielding nationalism,’ he said.

This collective mourning underscores India’s bipartisan commitment to honoring its defenders. As the nation pledges ‘zero tolerance,’ the Pulwama martyrs’ legacy fuels a stronger, more vigilant India, determined to prevent such tragedies and deliver justice.
