In a strong show of support, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, head of All India Muslim Jamaat, has praised Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her consistent criticism of Israel, particularly in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent two-day visit to the country.
Razvi endorsed Priyanka’s statement urging PM Modi to address the massacre of thousands of innocent men, women, and children in Gaza during his speech to the Israeli Knesset. She emphasized India’s historical commitment to standing for justice and called for the world to be shown the light of truth, peace, and equity.
Speaking exclusively to IANS in Bareilly, Razvi described Priyanka’s remarks on the Gaza-Palestine issue as spot-on and principled. ‘She has always raised her voice against Israel’s actions,’ he said, adding that while he doesn’t label PM Modi as anti-Muslim—citing his good relations with Arab nations and Indian Muslims—the timing of the visit was ill-advised.
Razvi sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him corrupt and responsible for the deaths of thousands of women, children, and elderly. He pointed to ongoing corruption cases against Netanyahu in Israel’s Supreme Court, jailed associates, and an international warrant from the International Court. ‘PM Modi should have avoided meeting him under these circumstances,’ Razvi asserted.
Highlighting Israel’s pattern of aggression against Muslim nations and daily attacks on Palestinians, Razvi argued that with tensions rising between America and Iran, Modi’s trip was untimely. Meanwhile, ruling party leaders counter that the visit will strengthen India-Israel ties, fostering deeper diplomatic and economic bonds.
Priyanka’s bold stance continues to resonate, positioning her as a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights amid global geopolitical shifts. As India navigates its foreign policy, such voices underscore the domestic debate on aligning with controversial regimes.
