New Delhi witnessed a heartwarming post-Republic Day event on Tuesday as President Droupadi Murmu hosted a special gathering at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Just a day after the grand 77th Republic Day parade, the President engaged personally with the unsung heroes who made the celebrations vibrant and inclusive.

The guest list was diverse, featuring students from remote regions like Leh, Jharkhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, representatives from tribal communities, skilled tableau artists, tractor drivers who powered the majestic displays, NSS volunteers, and NCC cadets. Each group shared their experiences, highlighting the joy of participating in India’s national pride.

President Murmu expressed deep appreciation for their contributions. ‘Your participation has added grandeur and inclusivity to our national festival,’ she remarked, emphasizing the role of every individual in showcasing India’s unity in diversity.

The day-long interaction underscored the President’s commitment to recognizing grassroots contributors. From the tribal guests connected to the 2026 Republic Day preparations to the artists and drivers from various states, everyone received her personal attention.

This event follows the traditional ‘At Home’ reception hosted by President Murmu on Monday. The elegant affair at Rashtrapati Bhavan brought together Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and high-profile international guests including European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The ‘At Home’ ceremony, a tradition since 1950 commemorating the adoption of India’s Constitution, gained extra significance this year with the presence of European leaders. It symbolized strengthening India-EU ties amid global partnerships.

Adding cultural flair, the invitation cards featured artistic elements inspired by the rich heritage of India’s Northeast states, celebrating the nation’s diversity.

As guests mingled in the historic lawns of Rashtrapati Bhavan, exchanging greetings and reflections on the day’s events, the atmosphere buzzed with patriotism and camaraderie. President Murmu’s initiative not only honors participants but also reinforces the spirit of national unity.
