In a significant development for Ayodhya’s spiritual landscape, Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra announced on Friday that President Droupadi Murmu has received a formal invitation to visit the Ram Temple. Expectations are high for her arrival in March to offer prayers to Lord Ram.

Speaking to reporters, Misra revealed that members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust recently met with the President and extended the official invite. ‘We hope she can fit a date into her schedule, possibly in March,’ Misra stated, adding that while no formal confirmation has been received, informal indications suggest she has agreed.

The visit holds immense symbolic value following the grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event drew nearly 7,000 dignitaries, including spiritual leaders, business tycoons, athletes, and Bollywood stars, captivating audiences worldwide.

Post-inauguration, the temple has seen overwhelming crowds. On the day after the ceremony, around 300,000 devotees flocked to have darshan of the newly installed idol of Ram Lalla, depicting the lord as a five-year-old child, with equal numbers waiting in line.

Misra also shared exciting updates on preserving ancient Ramayana manuscripts. The Central Sanskrit University has gifted a rare 400-year-old manuscript in ancient Sanskrit script to the Trust. Originally housed in the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, it was transferred upon learning of the dedicated space for Ramayana literature on the temple’s second floor.

The Trust plans to create a comprehensive repository of ancient Ramayana texts and Valmiki translations in various Indian languages within the temple complex. This initiative will position Ayodhya as a global hub for religious and cultural heritage, drawing scholars and pilgrims alike.

As construction progresses and the site’s sanctity deepens, such high-profile visits underscore the temple’s role in India’s cultural renaissance.
