PM Modi’s approachable demeanor eased the nerves of many young awardees, especially girls who were initially intimidated. ‘Some were scared about how to speak to the PM, but his aura made us all comfortable,’ Tarushi recalls. ‘We opened up and had great conversations.’

The live telecast of the award ceremony inspired countless schoolgirls across the country, showing them what’s possible.
