New Delhi: As the flagship Startup India initiative marks a decade of transformative impact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to host a special interaction with the nation’s thriving startup ecosystem. This milestone event underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across India.

Launched on January 16, 2016, Startup India has evolved into one of the world’s largest and most dynamic startup ecosystems. Over the past ten years, it has recognized more than 1.2 lakh startups, created millions of jobs, and propelled India to the third spot globally in startup rankings. The initiative’s success is evident in the surge of unicorns—over 100 Indian startups have achieved billion-dollar valuations.

The Prime Minister’s conversation will spotlight key achievements, emerging challenges, and future roadmaps. Entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from diverse sectors including fintech, healthtech, agritech, and edtech are expected to participate. This direct dialogue aims to amplify success stories and address hurdles like funding access and regulatory simplifications.

PM Modi’s engagement comes at a pivotal time when India’s startup scene is poised for exponential growth. With initiatives like the Fund of Funds committing over ₹10,000 crore and tax exemptions for startups, the ecosystem has attracted global attention. The event will also highlight India’s ambition to become a $5 trillion economy, powered by its youthful innovators.

Experts predict this interaction will catalyze new policy measures and strengthen public-private partnerships. As Modi often emphasizes, ‘Startup India has not just built companies; it has built dreams.’ This anniversary celebration reaffirms that vision, setting the stage for the next decade of groundbreaking innovation.
