New Delhi, March 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress government, accusing them of insulting President Droupadi Murmu. Speaking on the eve of International Women’s Day, Modi declared that Bengal’s enlightened public would never forgive TMC for dishonoring a woman, an Adivasi, and the nation’s highest officeholder.

The Prime Minister highlighted the incident where President Murmu, from the Santhal Adivasi community, was set to attend a significant cultural festival in Bengal. However, the TMC government boycotted the event, a move Modi branded as a grave affront. ‘On Saturday, while the nation prepared to celebrate Women’s Day, TMC committed this outrage against our President,’ he stated emphatically.

Modi emphasized the broader implications, saying, ‘Bengal’s people, the nation, the Adivasi community, and women’s power across India will not forgive this insult.’ He tied it to themes of respect for women and tribal heritage, resonating deeply on the international occasion.

Shifting to a positive note, PM Modi extended heartfelt Women’s Day greetings, praising India’s women for scripting new chapters in empowerment. He cited Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership as a prime example of progress in politics, administration, sports, science, and social service.

Addressing a grand event inaugurating projects worth Rs 33,500 crore in Delhi, Modi also targeted the erstwhile Aam Aadmi Party government. ‘This event proves how crucial it was to end the ‘disaster’ regime a year ago. Metro Phase 4 would have been complete without their self-serving delays,’ he remarked. Under BJP’s governance, Delhi is now witnessing all-round development, with projects moving swiftly from files to the ground.

Modi’s speech underscored a vision of inclusive growth, women’s empowerment, and accountability, setting the tone for political discourse ahead of key elections.
