In a heartfelt appeal that resonates across West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned a deeply personal letter to the state’s voters. Invoking the iconic slogan ‘Ebar BJP Sarkar,’ PM Modi has laid bare the anguish gripping those who cherish the vision of ‘Sonar Bengal’ – the golden Bengal of prosperity and pride. ‘Every young man, elderly person, and woman dreaming of Sonar Bengal is in pain today,’ he wrote, his words dripping with sorrow over the state’s decline.

PM Modi began his letter with a poignant ‘Jai Maa Kali,’ urging voters to shape the future of coming generations with their wise choices. He shared his solemn pledge to transform West Bengal into a developed and prosperous land, drawing from the successes of his government’s last 11 years. From empowering farmers to fulfilling youth aspirations, and uplifting mothers and every societal section, the results are evident nationwide.

Despite the state government’s resistance, nearly 5 crore Bengalis are now banked through Jan Dhan Yojana. Swachh Bharat has delivered 85 lakh toilets, while small businesses received Rs 2.82 lakh crore in loans amid duress on the poor. Atal Pension Yojana covers 56 lakh seniors, Ujjwala has freed over 1 crore families from smoky kitchens, and Kisan Samman Nidhi has smiled upon 52 lakh farmers. These achievements stand as beacons amid local adversities.

Reflecting on Bengal’s glorious past as India’s economic powerhouse post-independence, PM Modi lamented its current ruins after decades of misgovernance and appeasement politics. Youth migrate for jobs, women live in fear – a stark betrayal of the dreams envisioned by Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore. Illegal infiltration and violence against women tarnish this sacred land, with vote-bank tactics overshadowing cultural heritage.

‘How long will we endure this silently?’ PM Modi asked, pointing to transformations in other states via Ayushman Bharat, job creation, and women’s safety. West Bengal deserves its share of progress. With elections looming, his call for change echoes powerfully, positioning BJP as the harbinger of Sonar Bengal’s revival.
