Madurai is buzzing with anticipation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up for a high-profile visit on Sunday. The PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 4,400 crore, signaling a major push for southern Tamil Nadu’s growth.

G.K. Vasan, president of Tamil Maanila Congress, hailed the visit as a game-changer. ‘This trip by the Prime Minister to Tamil Nadu will lay the foundation for our success in the upcoming assembly elections,’ he declared, underscoring the alliance’s confidence.

Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson A.N.S. Prasad echoed the enthusiasm, noting a surge in excitement among party workers, youth, and first-time voters both on the ground and across social media. He described the event as a testament to the NDA’s commitment, promising accelerated development through the proven ‘double engine government’ model.

The itinerary is packed. In the afternoon, Modi will unveil key projects enhancing road connectivity, urban infrastructure, and regional progress. By 4 PM, he will offer prayers at the iconic Subramanyam Swamy Temple, drawing significant public attention amid Tamil Nadu’s charged political atmosphere.

Modi arrived in Chennai on Saturday, where he was warmly welcomed by Governor R.N. Ravi, Union Minister L. Murugan, AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and senior BJP leaders. His tour also includes launching Rs 7,000 crore worth of projects across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, blending development initiatives with political outreach and a spiritual touch.

As assembly elections loom, this visit positions the NDA as a force for rapid transformation, leveraging synchronized central and state efforts to deliver tangible results for Tamil Nadu’s residents.
