Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign in Kerala with a high-energy visit to Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. Greeted by enthusiastic crowds, Modi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the BJP-NDA’s commitment to delivering development, superior civic services, and a brighter future for the city.
Upon landing in the morning, Modi’s roadshow turned into a spectacle of public fervor. Crowds lined the streets, waving flags and chanting slogans, reflecting the growing trust in BJP as evidenced by recent municipal election victories. In a post on X, Modi highlighted, ‘The enthusiasm of the people showcases the rising confidence in BJP, clearly seen in the corporation results.’
At the event venue, Modi embraced V.V. Rajesh, BJP’s first mayor of Thiruvananthapuram corporation. Sharing photos, he congratulated Rajesh personally and wished his team success in driving positive changes, accountable governance, and accelerated development in the city.
Modi also met leaders from the Twenty20 party, now part of the NDA fold. He welcomed Sabu M. Jacob warmly, stating that this partnership underscores their shared dedication to transparent, people-centric administration.
Discussions with a delegation from the All Kerala Dheevara Sabha focused on fishermen’s welfare. Modi praised their efforts and outlined NDA’s decade-long initiatives, including better markets and technology for the community, promising intensified efforts ahead.
The visit extended to spiritual engagements at Varkala’s Shivagiri Math, where Modi met saints from the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam Trust. He lauded their contributions to social service, education, spirituality, and community welfare, inspired by Sree Narayana Guru’s ideals of equality, harmony, and dignity.
This strategic outreach signals BJP’s aggressive push in Kerala, blending political alliances, local achievements, and cultural resonance to challenge the state’s entrenched political dynamics ahead of elections.
