New Delhi marked a poignant moment on February 27 as Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tribute to revolutionary icon Chandrashekhar Azad on his martyrdom anniversary. In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi reflected on Azad’s unyielding spirit against injustice, calling it the true essence of valor.
‘Azad’s life teaches us that an unwavering resolve against injustice is real bravery,’ Modi wrote, emphasizing how the freedom fighter’s dedication continues to inspire generations. He shared a poignant Sanskrit shloka underscoring the supremacy of courage: ‘No quality surpasses valor in the three worlds; the brave protect everything, and all rests on their prowess.’
Modi recounted Azad’s ultimate sacrifice in the fight for India’s independence, noting how he offered everything to break the chains of slavery. This tribute comes amid ongoing national reflections on the contributions of unsung heroes who shaped modern India.
Joining the homage, Home Minister Amit Shah praised Azad’s relentless fight, from the Kakori Train Action to founding the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. ‘Every moment of his life was devoted to freedom,’ Shah posted, evoking national pride.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath echoed the sentiment by quoting Azad’s iconic words: ‘We will face the enemy’s bullets; we were free, and we will remain free.’ Their collective remembrances highlight Azad’s enduring legacy as a symbol of defiance and patriotism, urging today’s youth to draw inspiration from his fearless journey.
